Narrow Short Circuit Tie $32 cybershort
Short Circuit Tie Black w/ Antique Brass Ink Narrow Tie
(middle in photo)
Brand new! Short Circuit. We’re super excited to be starting a limited run of some ties printed from vintage circuit board patterns. No circuit bored here. (ha!) Yes, we swore over and over we wouldn’t do this design, (as it’s been done quite to death already), but when we literally came upon a truckload of really REALLY interesting vintage screens, all covered with schematics from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s before parts became overly micronized, we just couldn’t resist the serendipity any longer, considering our fascination with electronics history. The universe made us do it!
This print extends very high up on the tie, approx. 19.5" (49 cm) from the bottom point; perfect to be seen from under a vest or jacket.
We sleuthed the provenance of this vintage screen to the best of our knowledge. It appears these were for small CRT displays/control monitors in the mid-80’s. When fabricating actual circuit boards, silkscreens are used to print etch-resistant inks on to the board to protect the copper foil. Subsequent etching removes the unwanted copper and one is left with the desired copper pattern for conductivity.
The tie is made of a soft microfiber, having almost the same hand as real silk and is printed with high-quality, non-toxic, waterbased ink. narrow is 2.75-3";
